Bat pattern

A harmonic pattern where B retraces 0.382 to 0.50 of XA and D completes at 0.886 of XA.

Why it matters

The 0.886 retracement is its defining number: a deep retest of X that often turns sharply. The Alternate Bat has a shallower B and a D just beyond X, at 1.13 of XA.

How to read it

The 0.886 level is the key number; the stop limit is 1.13 of XA (1.27 for the Alternate Bat).

Also called: alternate bat
