Picking an options strategy, the Cluenex way

Your view, how expensive options are, and how long you have. Three inputs, one shortlist.

The options lab narrows dozens of strategies to three, using the same rules a professional desk would.

1. Your view

Bullish, bearish, neutral or “a big move either way”. By default the lab reads it from Cluenex signals: the 20-day forecast, the trend and, for longer horizons, the price verdict. You can override it.

2. How expensive options are

IV rank under 30 favours buying (long calls, debit spreads, calendars). Over 50 favours selling (credit spreads, iron condors). In between, direction decides.

3. How long

Each strategy has a best range of days to expiration. If Earnings report fall inside your expiration and earnings are not your idea, pick an earlier date or wait.

What we leave out

Strategies with unlimited loss, like selling naked calls, are never suggested. Every suggestion shows its max loss, breakevens and the three exits: take profit, stop and time stop.

Prices come from a modelled chain built from real end of day data. Check live quotes with your broker before trading.
