How we write Cluenex Learn

Cluenex Learn explains investing in plain English for people managing their own money. This page says how the guides and the Cluenex Data pages are made, so you can decide how much to trust them.

What we publish

  • Guides explain one idea each: what it is, how to read it, where it fails, and what it means for your own decisions. Every guide opens with a short answer and ends with its sources.
  • Cluenex Data pages publish statistics we compute ourselves from public filings and licensed market data: insider trades from SEC Form 4, congressional trade disclosures, earnings results and company financials for about 1,000 large US companies. The numbers are produced by code from the data, never typed by hand, and every page shows the date the data is as of.

How a guide is made

  1. We start from a question real investors ask.
  2. A draft is written with help from AI writing tools, working from our own data and from primary sources (regulators, exchanges, company filings, academic papers).
  3. Every figure must come from a source we link or from a Cluenex Data page. Numbers we cannot source are removed, not rounded into vaguer claims.
  4. An automated check rejects drafts with unsourced statistics, buy or sell calls on a specific stock, or claims about Cluenex features that are not true today. A person at Cluenex can stop any page before it goes live.
  5. Guides are re-checked on a rolling schedule. The date at the top is the last time the page changed, and each page lists what changed.

What we will not do

  • Tell you to buy or sell a specific stock. Examples use real companies to illustrate an idea, not to recommend them.
  • Promise returns or quote win rates we have not measured.
  • Hide our results. Cluenex publishes its own sealed record of past calls, including the ones that went wrong, on the track record page, and tests its signals in public on the signals page, including retired ones.

Conflicts of interest

Cluenex sells subscriptions to its stock research app. Guides mention Cluenex where a feature is directly relevant, and say so plainly. Cluenex does not take payment from companies to write about them.

Reusing our work

You are welcome to quote guides and reuse Cluenex Data figures with a link to the page and its date. The data tables are licensed CC BY 4.0.
