Cluenex Ltd is the data controller for your personal information.

This Privacy Policy describes how Cluenex Ltd ("Cluenex," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information about you when you use the Cluenex website, platform, and associated services (the "Service").

Cluenex Ltd is the data controller responsible for your personal data. This means we determine the purposes and means of processing your personal information. Where we engage third-party processors, we do so under appropriate data processing agreements.

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide Cluenex.

We collect personal data in the following categories:

Account & Registration Data
When you register: your name, email address, and password (stored as a hashed value — we never store your plaintext password). If you register via a third-party SSO provider (e.g., Google), we receive the profile information you authorize that provider to share.

Payment & Billing Data
When you subscribe, billing information (name, billing address, last 4 digits of card) is collected by our payment processor Stripe. Cluenex does not receive or store your full credit card number, CVV, or complete card details. Stripe's handling of payment data is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance.

Usage & Activity Data
Information about how you use the Service, including: which stocks and features you access, pages visited, search queries, watchlist additions, screener configurations, session duration, button clicks, and feature engagement. This data is used to improve the platform and personalize your experience.

Device & Technical Data
Browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution, IP address, referring URL, time zone, language settings, and device identifiers. Used for security, fraud prevention, platform optimization, and troubleshooting technical issues.

Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect your Social Security Number, government-issued ID, investment portfolio holdings, brokerage account details, or sensitive financial information beyond what is needed for billing. We do not collect information about your actual investment positions, trades, or portfolio performance.

We do not sell your personal data. Period.

We never sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal information to third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other commercial purpose. We share your data only in the following strictly limited circumstances:

Service Providers (Data Processors)
We engage trusted third-party vendors to perform functions on our behalf under written data processing agreements. These include: Stripe (payment processing), cloud infrastructure providers (data storage and hosting), email delivery services (transactional and marketing email), analytics tools (aggregated usage analysis), and customer support software. These processors are authorized to use your data only as instructed by us and for no other purpose.

Your data may be processed outside your country. We protect it wherever it goes.

Cluenex operates globally. Your personal data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including countries that may not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction.

When we transfer personal data of users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom to countries outside those regions, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms to ensure adequate protection, including:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
  • UK International Data Transfer Agreements where applicable
  • Adequacy decisions by the European Commission where available for the destination country
  • Binding Corporate Rules or other approved mechanisms where applicable

We keep your data only as long as necessary.

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specific retention periods include:

Retained for the duration of your active account. Upon account deletion, personal account data is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records for tax purposes, which may be retained for up to 7 years).

Aggregated usage data is retained for up to 24 months. Individual-level usage logs are retained for up to 12 months for security and fraud investigation purposes, then deleted or aggregated.

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grants you specific rights regarding your personal information.

Categories of personal information we collect: identifiers (name, email, IP address), commercial information (billing and subscription records), internet or other electronic network activity (usage data), and inferences drawn from the above to understand platform usage patterns.

We do not sell or share personal information as defined under the CCPA. We do not sell personal information to third parties for their own commercial purposes, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise California privacy rights, submit a verifiable consumer request to support@cluenex.com. We will respond within 45 days (with a possible 45-day extension where necessary). You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf.

Cluenex is not intended for children under 18.

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 18 (or the applicable age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to Cluenex, please contact us at support@cluenex.com and we will promptly investigate and take appropriate action.

Users who have not reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction are not permitted to create accounts or use the Service. By registering for an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age.

Industry-standard security measures protect your information.

We implement technical, organizational, and administrative security measures designed to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include:

Encryption in Transit
All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher. We enforce HTTPS across all pages and API endpoints and use HSTS to prevent downgrade attacks.

Encryption at Rest
Sensitive data including passwords (hashed with bcrypt) and personal information stored in our databases is encrypted at rest. Backups are also encrypted.

Access to user data by Cluenex personnel is strictly limited to those who need it to perform their job functions. We use role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication for internal systems, and regular access reviews.

Security Monitoring
We continuously monitor our systems for unusual activity, unauthorized access attempts, and potential security incidents. We conduct regular security reviews and assessments.

No system is perfectly secure. While we work hard to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and applicable regulatory authorities as required by law within the required timeframes.

If you discover a security vulnerability in our platform, please report it responsibly to support@cluenex.com. We take all security reports seriously.

We will notify you of material changes to this Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Display a prominent notice within the Cluenex platform

We will provide at least 14 days' notice before material changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

If we make changes that materially reduce your privacy rights, we will obtain your fresh consent where required by applicable law before applying those changes to your data.
